I was pleasantly surprised with the colourful order form. You can hardly find one these days due to cost-cutting. First on the list is the chilli scallop. There is plenty of garlic garnish and it is not very spicy either. It complements the vermicelli very well too. I will give a 3.5 out of 5 stars for this.
The grilled chicken sticks and shishamo are surprisingly good. The chicken sticks were grilled and sprinkled with chilli seasoning and sesame seeds. The shishamo taste equally good. The only issue I have with the shishamo is that there are no fish eggs inside, and it looks pathetically skinny, like some dehydrated fish. Will still rate both 4 out of 5 stars for the taste. There are about 8 bases for the grilled fish, and we went for the the mala one. I am not a fan of mala, because I don't like the 'ma'. Still, I decided to order this to try out. There are also non-spicy options if you would like. The spiciness level of this fish is acceptable, even though the 'ma' bothers me from time to time. You can choose to add a few side dishes to the grilled fish. We added tofu skin, crab sticks, potato slices, instant noodles and luncheon meat. The portions for the side dishes were little small for the prices. Hopefully, they can improve on the quantity. Taste wise, the mala grilled fish deserves a 4.1 out of 5 stars. Overall, this is a restaurant worth checking out. You might also be interested in Bangkok Jam Food Review.
The Claypot Vermicelli with Tiger Prawns is one of my favourite. You get 3 really big prawns and the dong fen is not too dry either. The prawns are quite fresh as well. I will give this a 4 out of 5 stars.
I will always order stuffed chicken wings as one of my sides. The wings are marinated with minced chicken and glass noodles (dong fen). The glass noodles add some texture to the otherwise boring chicken meat. Deep-fried to perfection, and coupled with the sweet chilli sauce, this dish deserves a 4.1 out of 5 stars. The minced basil pork with rice is a little pricey for 1 person. Nonetheless, the pork is very tasty and the spiciness level is just right. I found this dish slightly salty though. Maybe the meat has to be eaten together with the rice. Still a 4 out of 5 stars. As for desserts, we ordered the Mix Berry Souffle and the Red Ruby. We were very fortunate to get the last order of the Souffle, since there are limited orders each day. You can see how fluffy the pancakes were. Mix Berry sauce is on point, but slightly too sweet for my taste. The peanut powder and the vanilla ice-cream elevate the overall taste. 4 out of 5 stars. The Red Ruby comes with coconut ice-cream, which really delights me as I am a fan of coconut ice-cream. There is a generous amount of red rubies, which are basically water chestnuts coated with some tapioca gel. This deserves a 4.3 out of 5 stars. Who doesn't love a good dessert these days? You have to first cook the instant noodles and then drain out the water. Then you add in the seasoning and stir thoroughly. You will add the boba last. The boba are sweet in taste and thankfully not overwhelming. The noodles are savoury and it complements the boba well. At first I thought this would be a weird combination, but the taste is surprisingly good. However, it is very expensive (S$7.99) excluding shipping. For this, I would only give it a 3.5 out of 5 stars. Could have been 4 stars if not for the price.

So what did we do during that period? We play physical games. Games that do not require any form of complicated technology. Games that we had so much fun with our neighbours and siblings. This is something that we cannot forget.
In addition to the games highlighted in the video, I can also remember playing a game called "block catching". It is very much like police and thieves, where 1 person (the policeman) is supposed to catch the rest. The thief that was caught will now be the policeman. There are many variations to this game, and we can generally use the entire HDB block as our hiding place. Do check out the video if you do miss these childhood games! We were surprised when they presented us with 6 different appetisers as you can see in the video. We were secretly pleased when we saw the bill. We were not charged for these appetisers. How often do you get free appetisers these days? All of them were really tasty , especially the kimchi and macaroni.
We tried the 2 flavours fried chicken. One of them is the deep-fried chicken, which is very much like any other deep-fried chicken. The taste is really average, in fact, a little disappointed. However, the chilli version is really good. It is slightly spicy and sweet, which makes up for what the other lacks. This double chicken combo is quite big and is suitable for 3 people or more. The Jiajangmyeon is like the cha jiang noodle we normally see in coffee shops or hawker centres. The differences are the sauce is much darker in colour, and the taste also slightly denser. The noodles are very springy as well. Overall not bad. The Dolsot Bibimbap was served in a hot stone pot. You can choose from chicken and beef and we opted for the chicken. This is one of the best Bibimbap we have ever tried. There is just enough sauce to bring out the taste, yet it is not overwhelming. All in all, this is a pleasant dining experience and we will be back here again soon! See also an Instagram-worthy place: Ai Cafe - A Hidden Gem In Jalan Besar
We ordered a lobster that is about 1000g ($88++), and requested it to be cooked in 2 flavours, cheese and mentaiko. The mentaiko one was out of this world, and the cheese one is worth trying as well. The lobster was fresh and the meat was succulent.
Next up is the Arctic Tower set ($52.90++), which comprises of oysters, scallops, king prawns, blue mussels and venus clams all freshly steamed. You can be assured by the freshness and quality of the seafood here. The bottom layer is a hotpot where you can order your ingredients and cook them. For the soup base, we ordered the "white chicken", which is a thick and savoury broth that is sweetened with red dates and wolfberries. The add-on ingredients are very much like HaiDiLao. We ordered things like wagyu beef slices, cheese tofu, pork dumplings, vegetables, fish roe fish ball, crab sticks, hotdogs, etc. They also served bubble tea from the BBT shop next door. So you can enjoy BBT while eating steamed seafood and hotpot. How heavenly is that? The place has a pleasant ambience, so maybe you can bring your darling there next time.
